In Charleston SC we are seeing approximately 1 in 10 homes in foreclosure or short sale status. (A short sale is a home in pre-foreclosure status where the buyer and lender agree to a price that is below the value of the mortgage.) The good news is that these properties are selling twice as fast due to the below market pricing.
